Economic expertise in demand
For the first time in five years, the occupational area has grown again. Sales managers have replaced sales partners among the top 10 professions. Notable is the low point of the customer service and advising specialist (28th place). Until 2022 they were always part of the top 10; since then their share has been declining. It remains to be seen how demand will develop once economic conditions improve.
In health, social and legal consulting, two professions stand out in particular: experts in economics and in social education are among the ten most sought-after specialists. For business economists, it is the first time since 2018. Demand for physicians, on the other hand, has eased somewhat. Support from abroad may play a role in this.
In information and design, employers most frequently seek marketing specialists (43rd place). Here, AI skills are an advantage in the job search, since the relevant tools are already quite widespread in marketing. The financial professions have gained shares, they have improved to 39th place in the overall ranking (2025: 71).
