International routes almost a thing of the past

The trucker’s life with long, multi-day tours has lost its romance for many drivers. They place more value on a balanced work-life balance. How well this succeeds also depends on the radius within which they move. A good three quarters of all employers describe which trips and working hours await the future employees at the new workplace (76.9 %).
The tours often involve local or regional transport as well as delivery trips. Some employers additionally emphasize that these are day tours or that employees come home every day. Long-distance transport takes place predominantly nationally. A good one in ten employees takes on trips within Germany. Long-distance transport is mentioned again and again without specifying whether the tours take place domestically or lead abroad. International long-distance routes, on the other hand, play only a minor role.
